In HTML, the <blink> tag was used to specify a section of blinking text that slowly flashes. It was introduced by Netscape Navigator, but it is now deprecated and no longer supported by modern web browsers. Some web browsers, such as Internet Explorer have never supported it. This element is non-standard and there is no specification of its syntax or semantics. In addition, the rate of blinking is browser-specific and there is no option to adjust the rate of blinking.
Instead, a combination of CSS and JavaScript should be used to create blinking text. Although it became popular in the 1990s, usage was gradually declining due to its overuse and its criticism from usability and accessibility experts. However, some software supports the blink element as a hidden feature. For example, Google Search blinks parts of the page when searching for "blink html".
